Three dimensional modelling is sometimes used to generate a product even though it doesn't exist in real life - it can in a different world:

Initial stage - after taking measurements from similar product containers, a wireframe is constructed with labeling references added.

Secondary stages - the models is further refined to emphasize key points in the product.

Final stages - a lid was added for effect. The file was exported in a Postscript EPS format for inclusion in printing and to be opened in Photoshop for further manipulation.



Bryce (application) is a handy tool to generate fantastic backgrounds to "float" products on.
